When the same video defect appears on both monitors — internal LCD screen and external screen, then most likely it happens because of a bad video card. Anyway now I know what it is. How about video on gateway p – 7811fx external monitor, also has lines? What is wrong with my laptop? That was the indication I guess that the backlight was still alive and that it was the inverter that was not jump starting the light properly. Sadly within 6 months of the warranty expiring the screen died on me. Is it possible gateway p – 7811fx some cord of ldc cable is broken or other edn of it is loose?

If the external video is fine, and you have a problem only with the internal LCD, then I would check if the video cable got loose. Fixing bad video on LCD screen

If video on the external screen is fine and this defect appears only on the internal LCD, most likely you have a bad screen.

Also, any place where I could get cheap or used screens? I would try it next. The Intel logo should be blue on a white background but it is red on a black background. I called up tech support seeing what they would do low and behold they said gateeay was good until november 7 of this year.

I have a Gateway SD4. On the image below you gateway p – 7811fx a white band running from the top of the screen to the bottom.

Changing it out is a snap, but alas, gatewag I booted it with the new screen it will do this: Gateway p – 7811fx laptop screen is exactly as described in example 7. Call Toshiba and order a shipping box or take your laptop to a local authorized repair center and they should fix it at no charge.
